Hello and thank you for visiting my online shop. My name is Stacie Kane and I am the owner of "i.e." washable paper goods. I design, I sew, I sell, and I love what I do. As you may know, "i.e." is the abbreviation for the Latin word "id est"which is used to provide further clarification, in essence, that is. Therefore, every item I make is designed to essentially clarify the style of each of my customers. Additionally, you may have noticed, I spell my first name (Stacie) with an "ie". When people spell my name they often ask, is that with a "y" or "ey"? Inevitably I reply, with an "ie" that is. Hence, the meaning behind the name of my company.
Creativity runs in my family and is a trait I am extremely happy to have inherited. Since childhood I have been drawing, painting, decorating, sewing, designing, woodworking, and enjoying all of my creative talents through each of these skills. Needless to say, I am never bored! I am fortunate to have been commissioned for many of my creative talents over the years. However, it wasn't until I fell in love with a rugged paper textile that I decided to open my online shop.
All of my products are designed and handmade by me in St. Louis, Missouri, U.S.A. My merchandise is made out of an eco-friendly, highly durable, natural wood pulp cellulose fiber known as washable paper. Washable paper is certified by the Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) & OEKO-TEX (STANDARD 100) and could not be any safer for our environment and consumers. The textile looks and feels like leather but washes like fabric. I use all solid brass hardware on my products. Solid brass is one of the most environmentally friendly metals in the world and it won't rust when washed. Sustainable, machine washable, and extremely classy makes for an excellent purchase to enjoy for a very long time!
